Thursday, August 28, 2008 | 10 Koreans Die in Philippines Crash | 0 comment(s)

Ten Korean nationals including a child were killed in the Philippines on Wednesday when their van change direction abruptly across the central line and crashed into a store in heavy rain. The accident occurred in the town of Bolinao in Pangasinan Province, Luzon Island at around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, killing all 10 Korean travelers and expatriates onboard.

They had been in the Philippines since Aug. 24 to negotiate building a missionary center and hold services. Baguio city Korean Association president Lee Jung-seong, quoting the local police, said the van crossed the center line and crashed into a small store across the street in pouring rain. The bodies are laid in state in Sampaloc Hospital. Immediately after the accident, local Korean residents reached out to help, and the Korean Embassy in Manila is reportedly investigating how the accident happened.

According to the reports from different investigations, the driver fell asleep while driving. And it hurts to heard bad news about koreans who have been very close to my heart.
